The metaverse is a new buzzword referring to existing virtual worlds. Dofus, Minecraft, World of Warcraft and Fortnite develop a level of complexity – in social interactions, immersivity, playfulness, economic system, cultural value, architectural quality – that no so-called metaverse project has been able to equal, yet. Architects would have worthy competences for making virtual space, but recent attempts are only cringe. I don’t known what to think about the metaverse hype; people are already hyperconnected, too close in the virtual space and too far away in the real world.
